$29,995.00
Wilt Chamberlain was the NBA's dominant force in the 1960s and early 1970s. A towering, 7-foot-1 center from the University of Kansas, Chamberlain's professional basketball statistics defy belief. During the 1961-62 season, Chamberlain averaged 50.4 points and 25.7 rebounds per game for the Philadelphia Warriors. "The Big Dipper" finished his 14-year career as the leading scorer in NBA history, with averages of 30.1 points and 22.9 rebounds per game. Chamberlain was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1979. A cultural icon, Chamberlain received critical acclaim as the antagonist in the Arnold Schwarzenegger film Conan the Destroyer. Sadly, the basketball legend passed away in 1999.
Presented is a Philadelphia 76ers white home jersey signed by basketball legend and icon Wilt Chamberlain. Chamberlain has penned his flowing signature in black marker. According to the consignor, Chamberlain signed this jersey on March 18th, 1991, the very night the Philadelphia 76ers retired his number, making Chamberlain only the fifth Sixer in history to have his jersey hung from the rafters. Chamberlain's contributions to Philadelphia basketball concluded with this honor, as thousands of Sixers fans cheered in homage to Chamberlain's accomplishments on NBA hardwood.
The jersey features a Mitchell & Ness manufacturer's tag sewn to the inside back of the collar. "W.C. 1966-67" rests on the jersey's front left tail in blue thread, indicating the player and year style the jersey was designed. Comes with an LOA from JSA for signature.
