Ernie Lombardi was one of the great catchers of the 1930’s and 1940’s for the Cincinnati Reds and the New York Giants. Lombardi, a lumbering baserunner, was the catcher for Johnny Van Der Meer’s back-to-back no-hitters in 1938. A career .306 hitter, Lombardi claimed the 1938 National League MVP Award. The seven-time All-Star was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1986. Lombardi signed this MacGregor catchers mitt in black pen. He placed his signature on the palm side of the thumb padding. This glove comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AB12596).
