Finishing in second place behind the forever-rival Montreal Canadiens, the Toronto Maple Leafs - led by Frank Mahovlich's 71 points during the season, defeated the New York Rangers in the 1962 Stanley Cup semifinals. Featuring a showdown with Bobby Hull and the current champ-Chicago Black Hawks in the finals, the blue and white took the series in six games, with this the first of three consecutive championships.
This stick shaft has been team-signed by the 1961-62 Stanley Cup champion Toronto Maple Leafs. Featuring just the upper portion of a Hespeler Practice model shaft (41"), 16 have signed one side in ballpoint, including HOFers Tim Horton (nice dark example), Keon, Mahovlich, Pulford, Duff, Armstrong, Olmstead, Arbour and coach Punch Imlach, along with Hillman, Nevin, Stewart, Brewer, Baun, Shack and Ed Litzenberger.
