Gil Hodges & Don Drysdale Signed Baseball JSA COA

$599.00

Presented is a multi-signed baseball with the signatures of Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers Hall of Famers Gil Hodges and Don Drysdale, plus the signature of former Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Norm Larker (misspelled as "Lancer" on the JSA LOA).

Hodges, posthumously inducted in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2022, was the Brooklyn first baseman during the heyday of the Dodgers' "Boys of Summer" days in the 1950s, and also during the Dodgers' early seasons in Los Angeles. He was a 2-time Dodger World Champion. He also managed the Washington Senators, and later skippered the 1969 "Miracle Mets," that year's World Champions. The greatest fielding first baseman of his time, he also hit 370 home runs. The 6'6" Drysdale was an intimidating right-hander who wouldn't hesitate to brush-off any batter. He spent his entire 14-year Major League career (1956-69) with the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers. He had a career record of 209-166 with a 2.95 ERA and 2,186 strikeouts. He was the NL CY Young winner in 1962, and he was a 3-time World Champion. Later, he became a baseball broadcaster. Norm Larker was a first baseman who played with the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1958-61, and then he later was with three other teams in his 6-year Major League stint. In his best season, he batted .323 for the Dodgers in 1960.

The multi-signed "SPECIAL OFFICIAL LEAGUE" baseball has the aforementioned three signatures, all on side panels, with an unknown signature on a side panel. The Hodges and Larker signatures, both on the same side panel, are in black, ballpoint ink, with slight intrusion by scuff marks. The Drysdale signature, also in black ballpoint ink, is on a different side panel, and it is faint, with some scuff marks. The fourth signature is unknown and not that of a Major Leaguer. The offered ball has notable darkening, scuff marks - with small loss of the ball's "skin," and some stains. The offering comes with a JSA LOA for the Hodges/Drysdale/Larker signatures (Cert. No: B43660).
